Abstract

In this paper, we prove a common fixed point theorem for occasionally weakly compatible mappings in intuitionistic fuzzy metric space. An example is furnished to support our main result. Our results improve the results of Sharma and Deshpande [Common fixed point theorems for finite number of mappings without continuity and compatibility on intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces, Chaos Solit.
Fract. 40(2009), 2242–2256] and generalize several known results existing in the literature.

Key words and phrases. Intuitionistic fuzzy metric space, weakly compatible maps, owc maps, fixed point.
