Publication Ethics
GENERAL STATEMENT
The Jordanian Journal of Mathematics and Statistics (JJMS) is an International Peer-Reviewed Research Journal issued quarterly by the Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies, Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan, and it is funded by the Scientific Research Support Fund, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Amman, Jordan. To meet the expected ethical behavior of publishing an article in a per-reviewed journal, the JJMS applies the highest standards of publication ethics. It takes all means to prevent any publication misconduct. The JJMS makes sure that all parties involved in the publication process agree on acting seriously on preventing any unethical behavior. This statement is based on Committee on Publication Ethic's (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
PLAGIARISM
The JJMS editorial board does not accept any type of plagiarism. The JJMS hold no responsibility for plagiarism. All authors submitting their papers to JJMS confirm that their papers are their own creations and have not been copied in whole or in part from other works.
The authors of an article should give proper credit and citation to all relevant work used in the article. This includes the author(s) previously published work. Authors should be aware that JJMS randomly check submitted articles to verify its originality. The discovery of any misconduct will result on an immediate rejection of the article and further future articles from the author. If a published paper is found to be a duplicate or redundant publication, a note of retraction will be published, and copies of correspondence will be sent to the authors' head of institute.
DUTIES OF EDITOR –IN-CHIEF AND EDITORIAL BOARD
The editorial board of JJMS is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The Editor-in-Chief and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher.
AUTHOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES
All authors must adhere to the following guidelines when submitting papers to JJMS:
- The article must represent the author's own original work.
- The article should contain a sufficient and accurate data. It is the author's responsibility to report an original and an accurate data.
- All relevant publications that have been used or motivate the work in the article must be acknowledged and properly cited. It is the author's responsibility to ensure that the article contains sufficient and proper citations.
- The article is not being considered or reviewed by any other publication.
- The article should not be a reproduction of published work. This includes the author's previously published work.
- All authors must read and signed the copyright release form (Copyright Form).
- The corresponding author should ensure that all those who have made significant contribution to the work are listed as co-authors.
DUTIES OF REVIEWERS
- Assist the editorial board in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.
- Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself/ herself from the review process.
- Any papers received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
- Reviewers should be conducted objectively. Referees should express their views in a scientific manner. They should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Reviewers should report any substantial similarity between manuscript under consideration and any other published work that they are aware of.
- Any information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.
- Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
REVIEW PROCESS
All submitted articles should pass a preliminary editors' evaluation. If an article is found suitable for possible publication, it will be transferred to at least two independent and anonymously referees. The referees will be asked to evaluate the submitted article and submit a written report addressing article originality, scholarly relevance, professional relevance, significance, novelty of approach, completeness and correctness of proofs, article organization, and writing clarity. Based on the referees reports, the JJMS editorial board decide whether the article is suitable for publication or not. Reviewer's comments are made available to authors.
COPYRIGHT
Submission is an admission by the authors that the manuscript has neither been previously published nor is being considered for publication elsewhere. A statement transferring copyright from the authors to Yarmouk University is required before the manuscript can be considered for publication. The necessary form for such transfer (Copyright Form) is supplied by the Editor-inChief before a submission is send to referees. Reproduction of any part of the contents of a published work is forbidden without a written permission by the Editor-in-Chief.
ORGANIZATION OF MANUSCRIPT
Manuscripts must be written in English or Arabic (Manuscripts submitted in Arabic should be accompanied by an abstract and keywords in English). All articles must be prepared according to the journal style. A LaTex template is available to assist authors with formatting (LaTex Form).
REPRINTS AND PROOFS
Authors will receive the first proofs for necessary corrections (no alterations or corrections, except printing errors will normally be accepted at this point), which should be returned within one week of receipt. Authors will receive one copy of the issue in which their work appears and ten (10) offprint free of charge.
PUBLICATION CHARGES
There are no page charges for publication in JJMS.
